Old train yard in St.Thomas

A few days ago i visited St.Thomas Ontario. The purpose of my trip (a.k.a. weekday getaway) was to carry out a modern day merchant (kijiji) transaction fueled by my evident inability to own a cell phone for more then a few months without dropping it. My beloved Blackberry Bold has finally had enough, and due to this lack of care, decided to take a permanent vacation.

While driving around this seemingly boring town, i came across an old train yard, with a few rusted down train cars, and an old hangar building. It was a late afternoon and the sun was starting to get ready for its daily journey beyond the limits of our horizon. Something caught my attention and i decided to stop the car, and take a walk over to closer examine the area. The images below are simply my interpretation of what it is that made me stop the car and get out for a nice afternoon walk….

All images in this gallery were shot with the Fuji X-Pro1 and 35mm f1.4 lens.

Happy shooting all,

This is the former Michigan Central Railroad locomotive shop, not a “hanger”. A hanger is for planes. It is now home of the Elgin County Railway Museum.

      Thank you for the clarification.
